Description
Antique Karl Griesbaum Germany singing bird sterling silver music box, This automaton box features floral repousse with birds design. Box comes with a bird-shaped winding key. Front of the box has a “bird” motif slider. When wound move the slider to the right the lid opens and the bird comes out turning from side to side; flapping its wings, tail moving up and down, beak opens and closes while singing. When finished the bird goes back into the box and the lid closes. Bird is lovely with a beautiful bright iridescent plumage. Hallmarked “EB Sterling 925 Germany” (Emil Brenk).
