Description
Vintage 800 silver enameled Italian compact depicting winged dancing cherub angels. The compact has a gold gilt interior and floral leaf scroll designs. Hallmarked; 800, the number 24, and a lozenge mark with the silversmith number, fascio and province. There are eight (8) cherubs dancing around a tree, one holding a stick, three (3) cherubs sitting on the limbs of the tree with instruments in their hands. In the cloud is a nude woman holding a scepter and kissing a cherub. In the small water scene is a nude woman (siren) lifting what looks to be a chariot out of the water rescuing a woman in a blue dress that has a green serpent wrapped around her. The background has trees, hills, mountains and a single architectural style building. There is a very tiny flaw on beveled mirror left bottom corner not very noticeable.
